Apollo Media has just signed with another education-based client. This time around, we have partnered up with Casa Dei Bambini, a prestigious Montessori school providing an enhanced, holistic curriculum to students aged 18 months to 9 years old across the Greater Toronto Area. Situated in Vaughn by Langstaff and Hwy 400, Casa Dei Bambini is an open learning environment that stresses health and wellness. The enriched, practical curriculum includes areas such as yoga, nutritional guidance, interaction with nature and even language lessons for French and Italian.

We here at Apollo Media are honored to work with such a progressive and culturally engaging institution. We plan to provide the school with the best in web development so they can effectively communicate their value to parents and other educators. The new website for Casa Dei Bambini features beautiful design themes and animation courtesy of our talented designers and programmers. Expressing the school’s commitment to self-reliance, nature and growth, we opted for a calming, forest theme that draws visitors directly into Casa Dei Bambini’s educational philosophy.

As a social media marketing company, Apollo Media manages many blogs for clients in various and, sometimes wildly, different industries. This requires an army of intelligent and dependable writers. But not just any Joe Writer will do. They must have background knowledge in these topics, the desire to continue reading more about the subject, and the passion to write about them.

One of our strategies in building this literary militia was to organize a social group about blogging and recruit interested and talented writers. Since registering with Meetup.com in September and creating Toronto Bloggers, nearly 80 people signed up. We consider that a smashing success!
Now that we are in the full swing of the New Year and Apollo Media has set up its 2008 business goals, the Toronto Bloggers group will be moving into a new direction: professional blogging. This means that Toronto Bloggers is no longer open to the public; and now more like an exclusive blogger association.

On Saturday, December 21st, eight Apollo team members and three of their spouses, filled with the holiday spirit and gifts for their Secret Santa, met at 439 King St. West.

The air was filled with excitement, laughter and generosity. As the Apollo members trickled in, the gift table filled up. The board room table was loaded with decorated plates of munchies while, like most web marketing agencies in Toronto that we know, the beer and wine flowed freely. Read the rest of this entry »

Eleven Toronto Bloggers’ members were able to make the December meeting between holiday shopping and prepping for time off work. Some of the members included Emmanuel Lopez (a.k.a. Last night I had the honor of delivering a panel presentation on the business of blogging at the Society of Internet Professional’s Web 2.0 Conference at the Metro Toronto Convention Center, and I am pleased to report on its success. The event was well managed and it presented a great opportunity to share ideas with many experts and professionals who work extensively in social networking.
I would like to thank all those who attended and presented at this informative and engaging event, as well as Max Harnoon and the volunteers at SIP who had made the discussion possible. I especially enjoyed Martin Cleaver’s presentation on Wikis and how this collaborative tool is becoming so valuable for professionals searching for “blended perspectives” (to use his term) in creating meaningful content online.
Joel Alleyne’s detailed presentation on the differences between social capital, social networking, social networks and social media was also tremendously useful, as it helped clearly articulate the unique attributes of these relevant trends.
A special thanks also goes out to Paul Artiuch of New Paradigm for being the discussion’s moderator.
I encourage all those interested in Web 2.0 to look up these individuals when looking to expand their knowledge of Social Media Marketing. I look forward to discussing all the great information I learned at the SIP event and sharing it with Apollo Media’s clients, staff and blog community.

Apollo Media is happy to report on the success of the latest Toronto Bloggers Meet-Up, a monthly opportunity for bloggers from all kinds of experience and backgrounds to gather together to discuss issues relevant to blogging and the internet in general.
This month, the Apollo team had the pleasure of talking with Mauricio the Torontonian, Bill Longworth from VOTES (Vote to Eliminate Self Serving Politicians), Tiffany Strobel from Super Pink Blog and Shawn Dalton from End of Fees. We all engaged in a lively discussion over the politics of the Internet, how the media shapes our experiences as well as our respective rationales for entering the blogosphere.
Apollo Media also took the opportunity to discuss Darius’ 30 Day Blog Experiment which will help three bloggers of varying experience monetize their passions online through a comprehensive, step by step strategy.
Subscribe to the Apollo Media blog for updates on this exciting project as well as information on future Meet-Ups. Thanks again to all who came out, we hope to see you the next time around!
